Local athletes and cyclists will not again be seen in action until Saturday 4th April* when, in conjunction with t!io Wakefield Citizens’ Band, the Nelson Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will' sponsor a sports gathering and gala day at Wakefield. An interesting feature of Hie day will be the handicap road cycle race (the first of the season) from Nelson to Wakefield.

The programme will include both field and athletic events and will be the final try-out before the big Easter meeting which will be held at Trafalgar Park on the following Saturday when a large team of Wellington athletes, including Rube Wilson (brilliant miler and Welington provincial champion), will be competing.
