FORMER AUSTRALIAN RESIDENT REPORTED KILLED IN BOER WAR (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 21st March. 10.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A former resident of Cobargo, New South Wales, has been traced in South .Africa, where he is now a successful diamond miner, although it was reported lie was killed in the Boer War. Early in February, it was recorded in cables, that the Australian cricketers in South Africa visited a diamond claim iu the Kimberley district owned by a former New South Wales resident, Michael Giklea. The account was read by Mylie O’Reilly, an old friend of Gildea. O’Reilly notified Gildea’s relatives, who communicated with the diamond field owner. He then cabled replying that he was Michael Gildea, formerly of Cobargo.
