lUNGITIKEI V. MANAWATU (By Telegraph—Press Association) PALMERSTON N., This Day. The* Hawke Cup match, Rangitikei v. Manawatu, was resumed in overcast weather. The wicket was in good order. Gallichan and Norris, the not out men, began confidently and soon took the overnight score of 219 to 240. Gallichan, not out 19 Norris, not out 8 Extras 18 Six wickets for 244 The first wicket this morning fell with the score at 255, Wysocki accepting a difficult chance from Norris. The second fell soon afterwards with the score at 260. Scores: Gallichan, not out 31 Norris, c Wysocki,, b Marshall 8 Lumsden, c Lowry, b Hodder 1 Hearsey, not out 4 Total for eights wickets 264 Hearsey joined Gallichan and 300 runs appeared soon after, both being steady and confident. Then Hearsey was caught by Whittle off Williams at 315. Berquist failed to last long and the side was all out- for 331. Additional scores were:— Gallichan, not out 64 Lumsden, c Lowry, b Hodder 1 Hearsey, c Whittle, b Williams ... 21 Berquist, b H. Marshall' 8 Extras 30 Total 331 Bowling: Marshall took three wickets for 52 runs, Williams two for 56, Whittle one for 55, Lowry none for 43, Hodder two for 68, Cameron none for 7.
