WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING SIIARLAND’S SUCCESS (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELT INGTON, i2tb. March. The majority of the marksmen from outside of the Wellington district who took part in the National Rifle Association's meeting left Trentham last evening and entries for the Wellington championship meeting to-day were disappointing. Twenty-eight marksmen, including several from outside- districts, took part- in the’ service match, bnt only twenty-four shot in the championship matches. Weather conditions were good for the matches, the sky being clear and the air fairly still. A light, variable breeze blew from behind t lie range, but it. was not strong enough to extend the flags. 'Pile Service Match was fired first and was won by Lieutenant F. 11. Sharland (Nelson), who scored 61 out of a possible of 70.
