SHEEPSKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALES
Dalgety anil Company, Limited, 'Wellington report under date 7th February:— The fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundiies was Held, today before a large attendance of buyers. Sheepskins: Excellent competition was received for all descriptions, values being jd to Ml per lb dearer than late quotations. Fine wools were in request. Halfbreds and fine crossbreds selling up to' lOijil. Pelts sold exceptionally well, best lines selling to 7d. Hides: Fair supplies came forward. Good clearances were effected. Values for heavies being i-4d per lb dearer, lights and mediums par to l-Bd. Kip and yearlings sold about on a par with previous quotations. Calf were keenly competed for at prices 111 to lid per lb better. For weights of 6/81bs parcels were sold up to 13il anil weights ') /51bs up to 133 d. Tallow: Tlie market was firm at late rates.
The following is the range of prices: Sheepskins: halfbreil, Bid to lOijd,; fine crossbred, 9d to lOifd; medium crossbred, Bil to 9|d; coarse crossbred, Gjd to 8:]d; half wools, offil to lOd; quarter wools, s:]d to 7id; pelts, 5.1 d to 7il; salted at each, pelts to 2s lid; quarter wools to 3s Oil; lambs to 3s. Hides: Ox, 33/441bs, 3 7-8 d to (13d; 45/521bs, 6 3-8(1 to 7il; 53/591bs, C-Jd to 7 5-8(1; 00/691bs, 7il to 7 7-Sd; 701bs and over, 7 7-Bd. Cow, 33/391bs, 2 1-Sd to 0 3-8(1; 40/481bs, 4d to (lid; 491bs and over, s;|d to 0 3-8(1. Kip, 25/321bs, 0.3(1; 17/241bs, 73(1. Yearling. 11-Hilbs, 7id to 9d. Calf, 9/lOllis, (id to Oil; 6/81bs, 4d to 13d; l/51bs, 7d to 13:Jil.
Tallow: In cask's, drums, etc., 29s to 28s per cwt; in tins, 19s (id to 225. Sundries: Cow tails to 11 Jd per doz; horse hair, 16il to 20d per 11).
