CHRISTCHURCH MAN’S DEATH
POST-MORTEM- EXAMINATION ORDERED [By Telegraph—Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, Ist February. Investigations are being made concerning the death of Robert Minn, aged about .M years, who resided at 550 Hereford street. Heart failure is suspected, but a post-mortem examination lias been ordered by the Coroner. The ease lias some unusual features. Main walked into a fruit shop in Cashel street at 9 o’clock last niglit and asked for protection from a man lie alleged was following him. Main said he had been pushed into the gutter by a second man.
Main next went into a grocer’s shop with the intention of telephoning _ a constable at Lin wood, who, lie said, knew him. Main spoke to friends on the telephone first, and then collapsed beside the counter and died within a few minutes.
Statements by shopkeepers in tlie locality allege that Main and another person had previously been involved in an argument, though there is no evidence that blows laid been struck.
