Fresno Star were sentenced at West. Ham Police Court to a week’s imprisonment for disobedience of a lawful command when the ship was at Lyttelton in October.

It was stilted that part of the crew refused io work on Labour Day in New Zealand, despite the fact that the chief officer said it was not Labour Dav for them. Til,., defence was that the men had been warned from the shore that if they worked they would be “put through the hoop.”
