RIVAL KILLED
INFURIATED ATTORNEY BURST OF GUNFIRE IN COURT WILDEST CONFUSION (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) CHICAGO, 13th January. Infuriated by an adverse ruling from the Bench, John Keogh, vete. ran practising attorney, calmly drew a revolver in Court to=day and killed a rival attorney, Christopher Kinney. Keogh then fired three times at the presiding judge, narrowly missing him. At the burst of gunfire the courtroom was thrown into the wildest confusion. Spectators and attendants dropped to the floor while the judge dropped behind the bench and crawled on hands and knees to the safety of his chambers. When arrested Keogh said he was not sorry for his action. He hoped it would create enough publicity to prove his point, which involved real estate mortgage litigation. “I did it as a soldier, not as a murderer,” he said.
