Upon returning to the enclosure after winning the Peter Moore Gold Cup at the Moorefield Races Cherry King met with a hostile reception. During the Randwiek Carnival he raced indifferently, but to-day he came with a great run over the last half mile to win narrowly. The Moorefield Club has offered a bonus of £l9O to the owner of any horse breaking certain records. The mile record standing to the credit of Cave Dweller since 1929, was lowered by a quarter of a second by Cherry King. “Results:— Peter Moore Gold Cup—Cherry King, 8.0 (Shean), 1; Flamari, 6.10 (Wallace), 2; Baehian, 8.5 (Knox) 3.
