GERMANY’S PREPARATION DISCUSSED BY VISITOR (By Telegraph—Presa Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. The president of the International Amateur Athletic Eederation and a member of the Olympic Games Council, Mr J. Sigfrid Edstrom, arrived by the Aorangi this morning and hopes to see both Islands before sailing from Wellington on lCtli January. Discussing the Olympic Games to be held at Berlin in July and August, he said that Germany spent £1,100,000 in preparing the stadiums and other accommodation. The major stadium would accommodate 110,000, the swimming stadium 20,000 and the open air theatre 2(1,000. From the tourist point of view Germany was well organised and there was no interference with foreigners. The aspect of the country was peaceful on the outside, though religious persecutions were causing a lot of internal trouble. •
