COBB VALLEY SCHEME

THE Power Board yesterday adopted a wise course in asking that information be obtained by cable regarding completion of the Cobb Valley hydro scheme agreement. As matters stand at present there is a measure of incompleteness which has come rather as a surprise to the community. There has been no suggestion whatever from responsible quarters that all is not well. The inference is that consultation with London necessarily takes time, and that the final stages could not be reached until it was definitely known that the local bodies themselves were in complete agreement. Survey work is proceeding under direction of the London Company, which apparently is quite satisfied that work will proceed. It would have been better, however, if more complete information had been available. But it would be unreasonable in the circumstances to try and draw conclusions until information sought by the board has been obtained.
