CISTOLDI TO MEET WOODS NEXT THURSDAY A newcomer the professional wrestlers at present operating in the Dominion will make his debut at Nelson on Thursday night against Angelo Cistoldi. He is Johnny Woods, a husky young Californian, whose appearance in the ring will be eagerly awaited by those who have seen the cabled references to his activities in Australia. He is only 23 years of age, and has the additional attributes of weight and strength. He stands sft Ilyins.in his socks and weighs in at 16 stone. Woods received his early wrestling tuition while at the University of California, and he proved such an apt pupil that in 1931 and 1932 he was the inter-collegiate heavyweight amateur champion of the West Coast of the United States. He mingled football tactics with his wrestling, and was an outstanding performer in both sports, being an All-American football star. His development as a wrestler was rapid. In 1933 he turned professional and from that point lie has never looked back. In Australia where he has been since July; his successes include a win over the Commonwealth champion. Tom Lunch. Angelo Cistoldi is a young and vigorous wrestler 25 years of age and weighing a fraction over 16 stone. He has been wrestling since he was 16 years of age, having started while studying lecture at the Boston University. , H.is antics in the ring sometimes appear to be foolery but actually they are preconceived tactics calculated to throw an adversary off his guard.
