THE QUEEN MARY

INTERNAL DECORATIONS OVER 50 VARIETIES OF WOOD (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 6th November. No less than 50 varieties of wood will be used in the internal decoration of the liner Queen Mary. They include rare varieties such as betula, patapsko, nakore and zebrano. Accommodation in the new liner is being planned to give maximum sunshine. The number and size of the windows is exceptional. The children’s playroom for example, will have five twelve-foot windows and a veranday, and the grill room no less than 22 windows.

The statement that when the Queen Mary joins the company’s fleet the liner Berengaria will be withdrawn from the service was not authorised by the Cun-ard-White Star Line.
