QUESTION OF LEGISLATION (By Telegraph) (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) Mr W. E. Barnard (Labour, Napier) asked the Prime Minister whether, in reference to the Earthquake Protection Bill, reported to the House by the Public Accounts Committee on 10th August. 1034, the Prime Minister had now received a report from the general manager of the State Eire Insurance Office and, if so, whether the Government proposed this session to introduce legislation for the purpose of providing a fund to meet any future earthquake losses. Mr Forbes said a report had been received and the question of legislation was still receiving consideration.
