QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE (By Telegraph) (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, f>th September. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. to-day. The Rev C. Carr (Labour, Timaru) reave notice to ask the Postmastei - General whether radio stations I\A and 3YA were working on their rated power of 1» kilowatts, and, if so. how was it that 3YA was no more effective against interference than formerly. “How is it,” the member continued, “that on the Sunday that 3YA was advertised to go on to 10 kilowatts, input metres registered twice as much energy as can be registered now? Are stations rated on their input oi tlieii output?” Mr Carr also wished to know whether tenders were called tor the new YA transmitters, and whether the Broadcasting Board would give more consideration to listeners outside the four main centres, particularly in the matter of alternative programmes.
