WEDDING

CANTON—FRY (From Our Own Correspondent) A very pretty wedding was solemnised on the Ist June at St. Andrews’ Presbyterian church, Motueka. The church was beautifully decorated tor the occasion by Mrs T. Ovens, assisted by anembers of the choir. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Murray Feist, with Mrs Ovens at the .organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a lovely frock of cream chiffon—velvet, streamlined and flared from the knees and forming a graceful train, with lace bolero and sleeves and shoulder spray of orange blossom, shoos and hose to tone. Her filmy veil was attached to a lace cap with, a circlet of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of cream roses, chrysanthemums and jonquils. The three bridesmaids —Misses Jean Hargreaves, Peggy Talbot and Lois Bate wore frocks of Margaret Rose pink chiffon velvet, the two elder having their gowns made on the same lines as the bride, but with cowl collars and sleeves lined with silver lame. Their hats were of pale pink felt with touches of silver, and their hose and shoes to tone. They carried bouquets of pale pink roses and chrysanthemums. The younger bridesmaid’s gown Avas made in empire style Avith hat to match, and she carried a posy of pink floAvers. "Mr Roland Livesey Avas best man and Mr Errol Fry, brother of the bride, Avas groomsman. A reception Avas held after the ceremony at the Motueka Tea Kiosk. Mrs Fry received her guests, AVearing a model goAvn of mulberry wool mayochin. Her bouquet Avas a Victorian posy of autumn floAvers. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs A. Canton, Avore a brown ensemble Avith touches of henna, and hat to tone. Her bouquet was. of French marigolds, and autumn leaA'es. The bride's cake avos cut by the bride Avith a knife Avith Avliich her great grandmother had cut her cake 8S years ago. Four teaspoons Avere used at the bride’s table, Avhich also had been used on that previous occasion.

When the couple left on theirAvedding tour, the bride Avore a frock and coat of dark green tAveed Avith hat to tone.
