BULLION DISAPPEARS

FROM AUSTRALIAN MAIL VAN (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) ADELAIDE, This Day. Bullion worth £SOOO consigned from goldfields in Central Australia is reported missing from a mail van of the Alice Springs-Quorn train. A fortnight ago 600 ounces of gold was conveyed from Tennant’s Creek under police escort to the railhead at Alice Springs. Upon arrival of the train in Quorn early in the morning the bullion was missing, together with the mailbag in which it was carried.
