RUGBY IN LONDON

HARLEQUINS' SUCCESS ’ (From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON, 4th April. With 19 victories against 5 defeats, 298 points to • 109, the Harlequins easily head the London Eugger clubs this season. Bhickheath, whom the London papers tipped as the best side in the country, were beaten by them home and away. A fine vindication this of Adrian Stoop’s theory that attack is the best defence and speed the secret of both. < The Harlequins, fore and aft, have the legs of most English club sides and play the open game with perfect team understanding. They owe much to their scrum half, Dean, but more to Dunkley, their serum leader, who inspires the whole Harlequinade. In England’s pack against Scotland, when Kendrew was crocked, he might have turned the tide of victory. It is amazing he was overlooked, and almost equally so that our English selectors never tried one or other of the Harlequins’ fast wing-threequarters in an All White jersey. I rejoice in the Harlequins’ triumph because they play freehearted attractive Eugger.
