WANING INTEREST
IN CLUB FOOTBALL ATTRIBUTED TO BROADCASTING (By Telegraph—PreßS Aseociation) OAMARU This Day. Reference was made last evening by the president, Mr B. Blackmore, at the annual meeting of the Old Boys’ Football Club to the waning interest of the public in club football. The North Otago Union during the past season had taken every opportunity to stimulate interest. The real cause of this apathy was the broadcasting of big games in the larger centres, which also adversely affected all sub-union games. Such broadcasting was killing club football. No objection was made to broadcasting Test matches.
