The. dry conditions in Taranaki definitely ended with 24 hours of warm rain totalling well over an inch. Most of tlie district’s pastures have been well soaked, and good autumn growth now seems assured. The rain on Mt. Egmonfc was very heavy, and the rivers are flooded.
