CAR OVER BANK

DRIVER AND WIFE INJURED ACCIDENT NEAR MERCER (By Telegraph—Press Association; AUCKLAND, This Day. A small saloon motor car travelling from Hamilton to Auckland left the road and plunged down a bank near ■Mercer. The driver, David Weston McIntosh, aged 43 years, of Auckland, suffered severe bead injuries, and his wife, who was a passenger, received a broken arm, injuries to the face and shock. The ear careered down the bank into a clump of willows, and was smashed to matchwood. Although in considerable pain from her injuries, Mrs Mclntosh was able to clamber back on to- the road and attract the attention of a motorist. Both were brought to Auckland Hospital. Mclntosh’s condition is serious.
