BELL HILL WASH UP The result of the Bell Hill wash-up was 19oz 17dwt. WORKSOP EXTENDED RETURN The return for the week of the Worksop Extended Gold Dredging Company was 730 z lOdwt for 124 hours’ dredging; 9200 yards were handled. GOLDEN DAWN The return for 12 working days ending 6th February was £1075 from 303 tons of ore; gold valued at £7 2s ail ounce. MAHAKIPAWA REPORT The report for the period ending 15th February is as follows: The leading face soutli was advanced seven feet in poor grade wash. The bottom lias risen up to four feet in the face here and is quite smooth. Development work was continued throughout the week on the arch drive to connect present workings with the Golden Gate. This drive has now holed through to the Golden Gate workings. The drive is apparently still in wash with the bottom underfoot. We are leaving the bottom two feet of the drive in, for the last five feet, to form a dam to divert the water to the pump in the Golden Gate shaft until we have prospected the low ground over which we can pass. Later on all the water can gravitate through this arch drive to tho main shaft, and be lifted by the one pump. Mr J. R. Templin (chairman of directors' of the company) and Mr J. D. Renton are making a visit to the mine this week-end.
BIG RIVER Following is the report of the Big River Gobi Mines, Limited for the week ending 14th February:— No. 4 North Drive: Advanced 6 feet. There is no development of value in this face up to date. Stopes looking well. Stone 6 feet wide. Rise 45 feet up from floor of level. Full face of stone. No. 4 Soutli Drive: Advanced 7 feet, The footvvall leader is still in face but has not made wider to any extent. Stope producing good stone and maintaining width going up. Main Shaft: Good progress being made with this work. Battery: Working two shifts per day, GOLDFIELDS RETURN (By Teleirraph--Press Association) DUNEDIN, 15th February. The secretary of the Goldfields Dredging Company, Ltd., reports that the return for the week ended 15th February, was 21oz lOdwt for 129 hours’ dredging. KING SOLOMON r INVERCARGILL, 15th February. The wash-up at the King Solomon mine this week amounted to 90oz ldwt.
