With 515 officially recorded murders last year, a substantial decrease on the previous year, the Northwest Frontier Province is claimed by the Government as probably the most murderous area in the civilised world. Tim province lias a percentage of 200 per million murder cases compared with three in Britain. The Government recognises the seriousness of the problem and contends that the remedy lies in bringing about a change in the people's mentality.
