NELSON CITY COUNCIL Notice of Special Order Making By=Law "VTOTICE is hereby given that at a ■L * Special Meeting of the Nelson City Council held’ on the 20th day of September. 1934, it was resolved by way of Special Order that the Council make and ordain a By-law in pursuance of the powers vested in it by Section 364 (9) of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and in pursuance of every other power (if any) enabling it in that behalf. The object and purport of the said By-law is to empower the Council from time to time by resolution publicly notified to (a) limit the number of licenses to be issued in respect of vehicles plying for hire for the carriage of passengers or goods, (b) to fix the charges to be made in respect of the hire of such vehicles, (c) to regulate the hours of work of drivers of such vehicles, and (d) to regulate in any other manner the use of such vehicles.

Notice is also hereby given that the said resolution will be submitted for confirmation at an ordinary meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chamber, Sehvyn Place, Nelson, on THURSDAY, the 25th day of October, 1934, at 7.30 p.m. A copy of the proposed By-law is deposited at the office of the Town Clerk, Trafalgar Street, Nelson, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until the meeting at which the said resolution is to be confirmed.
