PRISONER RECAPTURED

AFTER DARING ESCAPE FREED FROM LEG-IRONS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 24th September, 9.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The police recaptured Sleeth at Ballandean, making for the New South Wales border. Sleeth told the police that he was still leg-ironed when he scaled the wall of the compound, and travelled about six miles before lie was able to free himself. Although hampered by log-irons, John Sleeth, aged 24 years, made a daring escape from Warwick gaol. As Sleeth had escaped from gaol on three previous occasions he was leg-ironed when placed in his cell.
