MILORA’S POSITION UNCHANGED TUGS’ EFFORTS (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE; 22nd September. The Milora Iqjs not yet been refloated and her position is unchanged. Although they moved her slightly, three tugs at full tide yesterday were unable to refloat her. The A.U.S.N. Company’s steamer Milora, bound from Newcastle to Melbourne with a cargo of coal, went ashore on a reef in Lonsdale Bight. SUCCESSFULLY TOWED OFF COST OF SALVAGE 24th September, 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. After 3000 tons of coal had been jettisoned the Milora was pulled, off the rocks yesterday by three tugs and is now being towed to Melbourne. Her hull is badly damaged and she is making considerable water, the crew working incessantly at the pumps. It is estimated that the salvage efforts will cost £2OOO, and ithe jettisoned coal is valued at £4OOO. v’-i WAITING TO ENTER DOCK (Received 24tli September, 1.50 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day.
