WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED

(By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 18th August. Following the difficulty experienced in securing relief workers for a job at the Hobsonville Air Base, the officer in charge of unemployment announced to-day that the work had been again offered to fit eligible men. Those who failed to accept the offer would be regarded as being voluntarily unemployed and would he Tefused further assistance from the Unemployment Funds. That action, he said, was being taken on the ground tliat sustenance payments were to he made .only to men for whom no suitable work could he provided, and in this case the work was suitable. Those men who had worked had averaged over 11s per day.
