(United Press Association— By Electric .Telegraph— Copyright)

(Received 20th August 9.15 a.m.) ‘ PARIS, 19th August. Bontliron defeated Lovelock by three yards in 1500 metres. The Americans won all the twelve events at the meeting. The “Times” Paris correspondent says that Lovelock and Bontliron showed no inclination to force the pace, the race not reaching what was expected on a fast track. Bontliron s tremendous sprint from the last-bend was not surprising, because previously he was allowed to run comfortably. Lovelock finished imusually weakly, requiring his utmost in the last strides to hold second place. The. time was 3 minutes 58 seconds. The weather was very hot.
