ATLANTIC FLIGHT
ARRIVAL AT HESTON (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 10th August, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, 9th August. _ Captain Reid and Captain Alying, in their Atlantic flight, passed over Stag Lane at 5.55 p.m, and landed at Heston at 6.7. (Received 20th August, 12.10 p.m) LONDON, 9th August, Captain Alying and' Captain Reid flew 3700 miles in thirty hours fiftyone minutes including 009 miles blind flying, after which they saw the Irish coast through a rift in the clouds. The abandonment of the: attempt on the record was due to freezing carburettors, resulting in loss of petrol.
