The Civil Aviation Department does not intend to accept the suggestion from New Zealand to prohibit the flight in the Codock monoplane over the Tasman. SURPRISED AT REPORTS (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Surprise was expressed by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith that reports have been circulated stating that the Codoek monoplane was to leave New South Wales on Saturday for its flight to New Zealand. “It is no rise joy-riding across tho Tasman in winter,” he said. “Th e machine has been thoroughly tested and found satisfactory in every way, hut it will not he brought, to New Zealand until the Dominion Airways are ready to take it into service. We cannot afford to send the machine across on ‘spec.’ The last tests were made only two days before I left.”
