ANNIVERSARY OF ACCESSION DIVINE SERVICE AT WINDSOR (United • Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, sth May. Their Majesties to-morrow celebrate the twenty-fourth anniversary of their accession to the throne. They will spend the day quietly at Windsor Castle, attending divine, service in the morning. CELEBRATED QUIETLY EMPIRE CONGRATULATIONS (Received 7th May, 1.10 p.rn. LONDON, sth May. To-day, the twenty-fourth anniversary of the King’s Accession, was celebrated quietly. Flags were flown from public buildings and the Te Deum was sung at St. Paul’s and Westminster. The anthem written for tho coronation of James II and a special collect were used throughout the country. Their Majesties attended morning service in the private chapel at Windsor and received telephonic congratulations from the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York, and Prince George, while the Duke of Gloucester lunched with his parents. Many hundreds of messages were received from all parts of the Empire. The traditional custom was observed at the Palace, servants asembling and toasting Their Majesties in champagne. Their Majesties return to Buckingham Palace on Monday, when a Royal Salute of twenty-one guns will he fired in Hyde Park. No arrangements have yet been made for a special celebration of the 25th anniversary .
