It is expected that Boussus and Merlin will play in the singles, and Borotra and Brugnon in the doubles. EASTBOURNE SEMI-FINALS CRAWFORD AND PERRY WIN (Received sth May, 9.40 a,m,) LONDON, 4th May. In the Eastbourne tennis tourney results were: Singles semi-finals —Crawford defeated Ouist 7-5, 6-4 y 3-6, 6-2; Perry defeated Kirby 7-5, 6-1, 6-3. Women’s singles semi-finals —Miss Scriven defeated Miss Nuthall 8-6, 6-2; Miss Round defeated Stammers 6-1, 6-4. Women’s doubles semi-finals —MrsDcarman and Mrs Lyle defeated Mrs Whittingstnll and Miss Yorke 6-2, 6-4; Mrs Godfrey and Miss Noel defeated Mrs ITopman and Miss Hardwick 6-1, 64. Mixed doubles, third round—Lester and Miss Ingram defeated Gandardower and Miss Noel 6-2. 4-6, 6-2. (Received sth Mav. 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, 4th May. Doubles, third round: Crawford and McGrath defeated Malfroy and ' Prenn, 9-7. 6-4. 11-9; Quist and Turnbull defeated Fujikura and Hopman, 6-4. 7-5, 1-6, 6-3. Semi-final: Crawford and McGrath defeated Perry and Lee, 61, 4-6, 6-2. 6-3. Third round mixed doubles: Wlieateroft and Mrs Wheatcroft defeated Stednian and Miss McAlpine. 3-6, 7-5, 8-6; Mild and Miss Round defeated Sharpe and Miss Dcarman, 6-4, 61. Semi-final: Mild and Miss Round defeated Lester and Miss Ingram, 6-3, 6 4. USEFUL PRACTICE (Received sth Mav. 11.20 a.m.) LONDON. 4th May. At Eastbourne tlm Crawford v. Quist singles was not taken seriously. Crawford obtained useful practice. He was particularly sound on the backhand, but served many doubles He finished full of vitality Kirby played finely against, Perry, justifying bis victory over McGrath, line lie was unable to stand up to Perry’s strong driving.
