(To tlie Editor) Sir, —In votir issue of 261.1 i April Mr Atiuore contrasts the resolution recently passed by the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand with a resolution adopted in 1932 by the Council of tlie London Chamber of Commerce. To the casual reader it is not surprising that the representatives of trading iiileiciit in a city entirely dependent on imported goods for food and clothing should reach a different conclusion from that arrived at by a purely producing community, with practically no local .markets and depending for its existence on foreign markets for not less than 80 per cent, of its products.
