ANZAC DAY
IMPRESSIVE SERVICE AT DOVEDALE The Anznc Day service, arranged by the local branch oi' tlie Returned Soi ! dim' Association, and held at the Memorial, was well attended. The returned soldiers, under Mr D. Thompson, and the Region of Frontiersmen, supported bv Nelson members, under Captain D. Hughes, paraded and marched to the Memorial. The parade which was comI manded by Lieut,-Colonel C. B. BrereI ton, was headed by the local school | children. The conduct of the service was in the I hands of the Rev. Mr Ilaultain assisted jby the Rev. Mr Hindmarsh. The hymns ! were arranged by the Ngatimoti choir ! who also rendered an anthem. The j Rev. Mr Ilaultain delivered the address which was at once inspiring and impressive. During the service the Memorial was guarded by two local territorials in the uniform of the Nelson-Marlborougii Mounted Rifles. At the conclusion of the service the “Last Post’’ was sounded by Air J. Fowler. The returned Soldiers wisdi to thank the Ngatimoti choir for their assistance and also the Dovedale Methodist Church trustees for the use of organ and seats.
