COMMONWEALTH AND DOMINION (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) CANBERRA, 27th April. The Prime Minister, Mr Lyons, received a letter from Mr Forbes, personally handed to him by Mr A. B. Lane, manager of the New Zealand United Press Association who is visiting Australia, in which Mr Forbes makes overtures for much closer relations between New Zealand and Australia. He notes the measures which Australia has adopted to deal with the depression, and expresses pleasure at the economic recovery of the Commonwealth. The letter also refers to the recent trans-Tasman aviation achievements, which are regarded as a happy augury for more frequent air services. Mr Lyons handed an official reply to Air Lane, xv lio inspected the Federal capital buildings and sights and lett for Melbourne.
