WANTON DAMAGE

STATE COAL DEPOT (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, 26th April. Thieves entered the premises of the State Coal Depot, Moorhouse Avenue, and the office of Collyer, Watson and Co., exporters, Harper street, on Wednesday afternoon and did a great deal of wanton damage in the State Coal Depot. Two sledge hammers found in the yard were used to smash a door and then to split and smash five desk drawers. The hands of a clock were torn off and another clock was filled with coal dust. Chalk messages were scribbled over the desks and walls. A sum ot £4 was stolen.
