FAMOUS AIRMAN

ANNIVERSARY OF DEATH COMMEMORATION IN GERMANY (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright; (Received 24th April,- 8.45 a.m.) V BERLIN, ,23yd April. German airmen mounted a guard of honour at Richthofen’s grave in Invaliden cemetery, in commemoration og the sixteenth, anniversary of his death.. Every German schoolboy is taught the story of his career, and that he was undefeated. The Nazi'organ asserts.that General Goering’s investigations have established that-“ Richthofen was making a forced landing behind the enemy lines, probably due to engine trouble, when a Canadian, Brown, shot him down from behind, not knowing that 'Richthofen’s machine was out! of action.” It may be recalled that British air history definitely states that Brown outmanoeuvred Richthofen.
