BASIC WAGE IN AUSTRALIA (United Press Association—l’.y Electric Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE, 21st April. Chief Judge Dethridge, in the Arbitration Court, announced that a Is rise in the cost of living in Sydney, Adelaide. and Brisbane, shown by the ‘’allitems” table for the March quarter, ■would he added to the new basic wage announced bv the Court on Tuetiay, the linereae being effective from Ist June. There will he no change in the Melbourne, Ilohart, and Perth rates.
