A message from Alessandria, Italy, says that Wedrazzini was killed and Nuvolari broke his legs in the 120 kilometres'motor race, the Grand Prix Bordiuo, which was won by Varzi at an average speed of 136.9 kilometres hourly. Chiron was second, Stadini third. The Englishman Pen Hughes was fifth. Rain throughout the race endangered the track' and led to the accident. After the accident Wedrazzini crashed into a fence and was Hung against a free. He broke his legs and ribs and died in hospital. Nuvolari was neck-and-neck with Varzi in the fifth lap when he collided with Vargi’s machine. Varzi righted but Nuvolari was hurled down a precipice. The machine three, times somersaulted and was smashed to smithereens. Nuvolari escaped serious injuries. Pen Hughes, who was close behind Nuvolari, escaped disaster owing to the excellent signalling system. Minazzi crashed into a barrier and injured several spectators. Ferrari collided with a brick wall and the car burst into flames. Ferrari escaped with slight burns.
