The Bombay police- arrested Girni Kamgar, a strike leader, and president of the Red Flag Union, on a charge of seditious speech in connection with Hie trouble between cotton workers and millowners. GENERAL STRIKE CALLED HOSTILITY TO DECISION CALCUTTA, 21st April. Following protracted disputes over hours and wages at Bombay, Alimedabnd, and Sholapur, labour unions decided to call a general strike of textile workers on 23rd instant. Sections of the workers, especially in Alimedaliad, are hostile to the decision owing to industry’s depressed condition.
