TRIP ABANDONED
WALLA WALLA’S PROGRAMME (By Telegraph—Presß Association) CHRISTCHURCH, 20th April; An announcement was made this morning that Walla Walla will not go to Auckland, for special races there on 28 and 30th April. The owner (Mr L. S. Martin) said that the horse really needed a rest. “I regret having to disappoint the public,” he.said, “but the horse is not in the condition to undertake the trip. I leel certain that if he did go it would knock him right out. That would mean that his proposed appearances at Oainaru, Forbury Park, and Hutt Park would have to ho abandoned. It is bad luck, but in the circumstances I really have no choice.” Auburn Lad will replace Walla Walla, and will be shipped north oir Monday in charge of the owner-trainer (Mr W. McKay). Mr Martin is to remain in Christchurch to look after .Walla Walla.
