Mr T. E. Maunsell S.M. is at pre y ent relieving in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington. It is expected that Mr Maunsell will return to Nelson next ueek. In the meantime Nelson and Marlborough courts are being presided over by Justices of the Peace. Mr 1. 1), A. McDonald, head attendant at Suimyride Mental Hospital, lias been transferred to the Nelson as head attendant. Mr McDonald, who has been 20 years on the staff at, Rnnnvside. was entertained this week by the officers and staff. Dr. A. (’. McKillop. medical suDerintendcnt, (presented Mr McDonald with a cniilenn of mi:, levy which had been subscribed for by the whole staff of the institution. Mr W. J. Thomas, chief clerk, ,-jid Mr 11. Hughes, who will succeed Mr McDonald. paid high tributes to Mr McDonald. :
