UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF
INCREASE IN N.S. WALES IMPROVED FINANCIAL POSITION (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 13th April, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Increases in unemployment woik rates, food relief allowances and winter benefits were decided upon by Cabinet. Single men on emergency relief work will earn an additional Is 7d and married men an extra 3s 3d weekly. Increases of about 20 per cent, will be made to all food relief scales aud a further and more generous' issue of clothing, boots, aud balnkets will be made shortly. The Premier, Mr Stevens, stated: We are able to do these things because of the State’s impvoved financial position and increased employment in industry generally.”
