SURPLUS OF INCOME l RECEIPTS IN RATES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. City’s financial year ended on 31st March, and in the course of a discussion in the City Council the Mayor, Mr Hislop, stated that there was a total surplus of income over expenditure in tne year’s workings of £30,000. The main cause of that had been a surplus of £20,000 over the estimated receipts in rates. It had been estimated that £467,000 would be received.
