NGATIMOTI

The Ngatimoti Mothers' Union and Women’s Institute combined recently to farewell Airs 'N. Pownall, who with her husband and family have since left to take up residence in Nelson, where Mr Pownall has accepted a position. The function took the form of a garden party and was held in the beautiful gartfen of Airs E. Haycok, kindly lent for the occasion. • Mrs J. Strachan, on behalf of the At others’ Union, gave a farewell address and Airs Stevens on behalf of the Women's Institute presented the guest of- honour with a beautiful bouquet composed of asters and phlox. Airs Pownall suitably replied. Games and competitions and a delicious afternoon tea brought a successful event to a close.
