Advice has been itceived of the death, in Auckland, of Dr. J. P. Millington. Deceased was well known to the older residents, cf flic West Coast, having practised, in Greymouth and district 30 to. 45 years ago. Mrs Millington and daughter reside in Auckland. His son was drowned'during the war period whilst serving in flic Mercantile Marine. Mr E. Norden arrived in Nelson this morning to complete arrangements for the opening of the Theatre Royal. Advice was received in Hawera this week of die death at Bristol (England), of Miss Doris Grace Sims, who for some years lived at Hawera (states the 'Star’). A talented pianist, she was on the staff of the Nelson School of Music •'iul left there to take up teaching in Hawera. She- was held in high regard by many friends and pupils in Nelson, Hawera, Eltham and Mniinin.
