MORE DISTURBANCES
AGAINST FRENCH GOVERNMENT ACTIVITY OF COMMUNISTS (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, 22nd January. In consequence of the. “Action l'rancaisc’s” headlining a front- page, “All Against a Dictatorship meet outside the Deputies,” fresh anti-Governnient disturbances broke out. Processions oi young men shouting “Down with Cliautemps ! Down with the thieves ! Down with the assassins!” threw fireworks at 1 lie gendarmes horses until the police quelled the panic and arrested a hundred, including M. Pujo, chief editor of “Action Francnisc.” A fire brigade, taking a circuitous route to avoid the barricade, removed torn-up trees, iron railings, and bench.es with which the rioters had blocked the tramlines, turning the street into tlie semblance of a rubbish heap. ’Communists attempted to surround the town hall, crying “Send Chaippc to gaol !” The police prevented other bands ot Communists from joining tlie rioters. The Chamber rose at 7.15 while the demonstrations were in full swing and watched the police restore order.
