SENT TO GAOL

PETROL PUMP CASE (By Telegraph-Press Association) AUCKLAND, 22nd December. The three men who attempted to steal petrol and oil at Henderson on Monday night were sent to gaol for three months to-day. They were Bert Roland Sergeant (23), motor driver, Althouse Ravmond Sergeant (20), labourer. and Denny Iloey (29), buslunan. The police said - that in the hist three years the owner of the nump had lost over 7009 gallons of petrol. Two of the accused pleaded that they intended to pay for the petrol next day. Iloey, who was described as a champion axeman, said that he had nothing to do with the affair. “We must put a stop to these thefts,” said the Magistrate.
