The idea was that Gwen should wait on the raft while Richard and Ted took the boat back, and then, from a certain point on the shore, they show race to the raft. Gwen, of course? would be there to decide who was the winner. She said she did hot mind so long as she could take her sunshade, so they got the boat and rowed her out.
