TO REMOVE A WRONG IMPRESSION"
[To tho Editor] Sir, —In order to correct a probable wrong impression that might have emanated from a newspaper report of tbe meeting of the executive committee of the Motucka branch of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association held recently, in which it was stated that tbe tender of the 12tli (Nelson) Regimental for a supply of music at the gala oil boxing Day was accepted as that of the Motucka Municipal Band was considered too high, it is notified that tbe former band was never asked for a tender. The amount of £3 10s mentioned by tbe Regimental Band for a supply of music at the gala was to cover transport expenses only, and furthermore there was never any question of trespass as the Band was accorded an invitation to be present at the gala.—l am, etc., G. F. SMITH, Chairman of the Executive. Motueka, 19th December.
